The weather has been absolutely freezing, and so whilst I’m (partially) snowed-in I thought I’d write a little life update…

So what’s new in my life? There are definitely a few exciting prospects on the horizon, but really I’m no further forward as of yet. I’m still not employed (though I’ve not realllly been looking, and only applied for three jobs that grabbed my attention), still going strong with my self-employed business, and I’ve even picked up some paid freelance blog writing work… amazing! It’s such a great little on-going role too and I am so so excited about it; I’ll be sure to let you all know about it when their blog and website go live. It may interest the fashion girls, and the girls interested in women in business.

I’ve also had a few interviews for some social media freelance work, hurrah! Hopefully I can build up some pennies, girl’s got bills to pay and I’m running seriously low on funds. I’m trying really hard to put my Digital Marketing diploma and social media/digital marketing skills and know-how to good use, especially if it means I can work from home or work whilst I’m travelling. Much more exciting than heading into an office every day.

I’m also in the process of renting my spare room… well… trying to. I’ve gotten it ready, redecorated some areas of the house… everything is looking super hygge-chic! Now I’m experiencing the brand-new process of having people come and view (secretly judge) my home whilst I get to know (secretly judge) them in the space of 20-40 minutes. I’m just praying to have a few sane, non-murderous, quiet, friendly people interested in living with me. I’m not asking for much, right? If they love a box-set binge and a good travel session then that’s a jackpot!

I’ve been trying to fill the rest of my spare time by getting out and exploring more of the town and county that I live in, but I’m still really struggling to find anywhere nearby that I can be really excited about. I’d love to take a trip to the Eden Project when it’s super quiet, so that I can whip out the tripod judgement-free, but it’s so hard to gage it. The same goes for Heligan Garden. I turned up one morning just before they opened and already the car park was packed. In February. In the freezing cold. What. But we in Cornwall have finally joined the rest of the UK and become snowed-in, which makes almost anywhere look pretty… even the back garden…

Being snowed in is also helping my box-set binging, and this week’s hot show is Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Yep, taking it back to my childhood. This show was my absolute jam, and whilst I’ve seen pretty much every episode… there are seven seasons… and I’m already on season four. There’s no stopping me. Has there ever been a better animated cat?! No. No there has not. I can’t wait for Netflix’s reboot of the show too, although I am totally in love with the old show and the old cast and really can hate change, I am looking forward to experiencing the magic all over again.

Travel is thankfully happening this month too, hurrah. As you may know (because I can’t stop talking about it) Marrakech is the big March trip, and it’s come just in time. I love love love snow, but I am so ready for a little hot, bright, welcoming sunshine. Just two weeks left to go and I’ll be packing my bags all over again for a girl’s trip to the markets of Morocco. I can’t wait. I’ll be sure to take plenty of photos, and fill you in on all the details when I get back. I also so need to do a write up of all the pretty things I'm taking with me.

I’m really interested to know how safe I’ll feel out there too. As an olive-skinned, dark featured girl I tend to get pestered so much. When I went to Tunisia they all thought I was Tunisian, I stopped over in Egypt for a few hours and was constantly asked by men if I was Egyptian, Indian and Turkish guys do not leave me alone… and so I’m assuming I’ll have the same pestering problems in Morocco, but hopefully not to the extent where I don’t feel safe enough to wander around alone. We shall see.

Stay tuned for plenty of Instagram stories from Morocco, I’ll be with my top girls and we’re staying at a brand new hotel – all inclusive. Drinks. I also bought a brand new little device for my GoPro so that we can take some amazing underwater shots. Can’t wait for that! If you’re not following me on Instagram, pop over and say hello! I’m always keen to chat and find new travel friends and inspiration. You can find me on @perfectlyclaudia.

Amsterdam is looking more and more likely to happen in the summer, hurrah. My sister finishes her Uni degree soon, and so once that’s out of the way (and a trip to see Bristol’s annual balloon festival happens) we can head off to the (hopefully) sunny skies of Amsterdam. Woo! Another country to tick off the list.

If you have any Moroccan tips for me, what to eat, what not to eat, what definitely not to eat, or have any questions about Morocco that I can try to answer when I get back… let me know! Please please do drop me a comment below.
